The Lava Tube Water Cave

 

 

 

 

This Hole in the ground led to a dark little tunnel small enough to crawl through that led to a larger lava tube cave. Long ago the lava ran through so quickly that it left a perfectly carved out deep trough of stone that has since filled with clear fresh spring water. We followed it maybe 200 yards before it closed to the top of the water. We causiously began jumping into the black abyss of clear water and soon began doing cannon balls and seeing how many seconds we could travel down into the water, we never touched the bottom. Truly an eerily amazing outing.
