The Big Reveal

My sister had no idea we were coming. Her husband had arranged everything in complete secrecy. At the airport we were presented with Lei's the kids had made from their own tree, we then bought food for the week and rushed to 69 beach where Katherine would be arriving soon suspecting nothing more than a family picnic. Her many friends had come as well, as we hid down the beach she was greeted by her friends with a big "suprise" and a happy birthday song. Then her husband blindfolded her and said we have something more for you - a poem that each of your sister contributed in writing. We then crept in a semi circle around her and watched Ben read the poem as her chin quivered in home sickness the realization began to sink in that there was a possibility that we were all there. At the conclusion of the poem she ripped off her blind fold and in a heart wrenching sob said "NO!" As she began to cry and laugh hysterically we all hugged her individually and then as a group with tears streaming and mouths laughing in the back ground an onlooking male friend said "this is worse than the notebook" Oh but so much better. What a beautiful, unforgettable moment for all of us but especially for our beloved, homesick birthday girl. Good Job Ben. What a self sacrificing, thoughtful, loving husband you are!
