I replied to this request on face book and found it thought provoking. I had fun trying to think of random Deborah things. Now, you'll know me quite intimately.
1. I am one of twelve children
2. My driver’s license used to say my address was 2 miles south of Orderville. Cops would always laugh at me.
3. I can play the piano and the violin and really like singing alto in my church choir. I'm not good at music but it really makes me happy.
4. Chocolate nutty ice cream in my favorite food followed closely by cantaloupe, tomatoes, and mangos which I hadn't tried until 2 years ago on vacate to Hawaii where my sister lives.
5. I can stick my whole fist in my mouth. The up side is I can take bigger bites of ice cream
6. I'll try everything but I'm not very good at anything
7. The bottom half of my two front teeth are fake because when I was nine I leaned over in the dark to pick up a glow worm (remember those) and there was a metal chair that I broke my teeth off on.
8. When I was in kindergarten I would climb our 25 foot rope swing above our trampoline and would sit in the tree to meditate (I was a serious 5 year old) One day as I was trying to go from the tree limb to the rope my two year old brother started to move the bottom of the rope and as a result I fell from the top, bounced on my bottom half way up the rope and came to a crashing halt on the metal bars cutting a chunk of skin out of my chin which my siblings saved for me in a cup of water. Thanks to a terrible 12 stitch patch job and to my mothers chagrin I now have a lovely scar that people only comment on when I'm retaining water. I don't really mind it.
9. Sometimes I talk in my sleep or sleep walk. I often sleep-yell at my husband. One night I awoke standing on top of my bed yelling, "the snake is going to get me" and my husband holding onto my ankle so I wouldn't hurt myself. I was dreaming that there was a can cut into the mattress with a snake in the bottom of it and I was running out to the street to get away from it. Another time at Lake Powell I woke up wrapped in a blanket in our neighbor’s campsite. They let me sit by there fire a while till I was fully conscious.
10. I can climb up and sit on top of a lake buoy. Not many can accomplish this. Try it sometime.
11. I taught myself how to swim competitively by watching old people, under water, at the Lions center swim laps. At first they would always pass me until I learned there secret. It's all in the reach and twist.
12. I've completed three triathlons, one wasatch back relay, and one marathon.
13. I grew up in five trailers connected with raised walkways out in the country and heated them with wood burning stoves. It was awesome until I became a teenager.
14. I love the outdoors. From infancy I 've spent most of my time outside and now my favorite things are in nature. Backpacking, camping, snowboarding, wakeboarding, swimming, hiking, climbing, making sand castles, 4-wheeling, photography. boating.
15. I can stand on my head for several minutes. And have kept my balance in the "crane" once. THat is really hard.
16. My love language is physical affection.
17. My first baby was 10 pounds and my second was 8.2.
18. I have a 21/2 inch scar on my shin from a barbed wire fence that I should have had stitched but I didn't tell my Mom about it.
19. My outdoor wedding reception was almost ruined by a snowstorm in September but it miraculously passed over us leaving a giant glorious rainbow. On our way to the city snow was scraping the bottom of my car.
20. I've hand fed monkey's in Costa Rica, Stood by flowing lava and scuba dived with eagle rays in Hawaii, hiked Mt. Fugi and watched the sun rise in Japan, and went shopping in Mexico and my dream is to travel and photograph the world.
21. My sister stepped over a sun basking rattlesnake with me on her neck. She is awesome.
22. I've been in a sanctioned kickboxing fight and won with a TKO.
23. I brush my teeth sometimes just to make myself feel less guilty about eating too much chocolate. AS a kid I thought salt cooled down food.
24. I got my hand stuck in an old ringer washing machine when I was a kid. It got up to my shoulder before my screams brought help.
25. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know who I am. I know Gods plan. I'll follow him in faith.
